GLR and the Bike Lane's collaborative gravel ride out of Oregon, IL.  We head west to the Mississippi River and back to Oregon on the nicest gravel that Illinois has to offer.  This should be a great event for anyone who enjoys a fun day on the bike.   This is NOT a RUSA event.  There are no controls or time limits.  You are free to stop where ever you would like and proceed at whatever pace you like.  It's a good idea to bring lights, reflective gear and other safety gear just in case.  The official end of the ride is at 8:00 pm.

If you are not up for the full 200k of gravel, there is the 100k Chonkey Chimp as well.  Those preferring road only can do the My Hip is Bleeding 200k.

Big Thanks to Brian Lewis-Jones and Max Hertz of the Bike Lane!

The ride will feature:

  1. BYOS (Bring your own Start) - You may start at any time you like from 6:00 AM on Saturday until 10:00 AM on Saturday.  You must bring lights and reflective gear.
  2. Self Reporting for you finish - There are NO controls on this ride.  Instead, you can start from ANY point on the route and finish at the same place.  On your confirmation email, there will be a link for uploading an RWGPS or Strava URL (for Strava, your ride must be public).  You must upload this within 24 hours of the finish and text the organizer on your finish.
  3. You may ride as much of the route as you like.  If you don't finish the entire route, you may abandon and upload your GPS URL for partial credit.
  4. Social Distancing and masks worn indoors (if you stop) are MANDATORY.  While riding in pairs is fine, large groups are prohibited.

There will be a mandatory pre-ride Zoom Meeting for all participants the night before the ride to go over safety and any last minute route information.
