New 400k out of Oregon, IL. Make reservations at the Paddlewheel early since it is Labor Day weekend. Camping is available across the river. The new route will not be nearly as hilly as the Bleeding 400k but will still have a little kick.
This is a moderately hilly route with the first 400k being an out and back to Monroe, Wisconsin through Freeport. There are no cruel climbs but there are non-stop rollers! Once you return to Oregon, you can either stop at Casey's or detour back to the Paddlewheel to pick up supplies before heading south to Sterling and completeing the "hook" up to Mt Carrol's Historic District.
This is a socially distanced ride, you may start at any time from 2 hours before until 2 hours after the stated start time and at any point on the course you like. You will be sent an email with directions for recording your finish time and your GPS URL. We urge you to wear masks inside any establishment in accordance with local laws.
Another great ride! Enjoyed the rolling hills, cool night riding, and watching the lightning light up the sky in the distance before the real thunderstorm began.
Thank you.
